Welcome to the webpage of the 2D Materials Research Group (2DMRG) of the Autonomous University of Zacatecas (UAZ), Mexico. We encourage you to explore our website and contact us if you are interested in some particular topic.
As a group, we are involved in the research of fundamental aspects of 2D materials from a theoretical standpoint. We are devoted to the study of the electronic, transport, and transport-related phenomena in monolayer graphene, bilayer graphene, silicene, TMDs, and phosphorene. With several collaborations at UAZ and outside we are addressing fundamental properties as well as properties with impact in potential applications such as conductance oscillations, self-similar transport, Fano resonances, tunneling times, Hartman effect, spin-valley polarization, magnetoresistance, and low-dimensional thermoelectricity. Based on the continuum approximation, the transfer matrix method, and the Landauer-Büttiker formalism we are studying single and double barrier structures, periodic and aperiodic superlattices as well as complex-self-similar structures.
We are committed to contribute to the understanding of this growing, diverse, and exciting field. We want to be a reference for the coming generations interested in the fundamental properties of 2D materials. We also want to inspire young minds to see science as the route to unveil the secrets of nature as well as the driving force to improve human life.
Thanks a lot to be interested in us.
Best regards
Dr. Isaac Rodríguez-Vargas
